Kotokan Ikan Pe (iwak pe) sangat terkenal di Jawa Timur. Walau kuahnya terlihat mirip, masakan ini berbeda dengan Mangut. Sebab, kotokan tidak pakai kencur.

Bahan Membuat Kotokan Ikan Pe Lombok Ijo :
Ikan pe asap: 250 gram
Tempe ukuran kecil: 1 papan
Santan instan, ditambah 60 ml air: 65 ml
Pete (jika suka): 1 papan
Lengkuas, geprek: 2 ruas jari
Cabai hijau, iris tipis serong: secukupnya
Bawang goreng: secukupnya
Bawang merah: 7 buah
Bawang putih: 3 siung
Lombok / cabai merah besar: 2 buah
Kunyit: 1 ruas jari
Jahe: 1 ruas jari
Kemiri: 3 buah
Jinten: 1/4 sdt
Cabe rawit: secukupnya
Gula merah: secukupnya
Garam: secukupnya
Langkah Membuat Kotokan Ikan Pe Lombok Ijo :
Cuci bersih Ikan pe dan goreng setengah matang.
Potong tempe dan goreng sedikit kering.
Haluskan bahan bumbu halus, tumis sampai harum.
Masukkan lengkuas dan cabe hijau. Masukkan larutan santan, masak hingga mendidih.
Masukkan ikan pe, tempe goreng dan pete.
Koreksi rasa sesuai selera. Tunggu sampai kuah menyusut.
Sajikan dengan taburan bawang goreng.
Kukus atau rebus terlebih dulu ikan pe supaya mengurangi bau.
